Professor Stephen C. Jacobson

Professor Jacobson's research is into the creation of micromachining techniques to build miniature platforms, (i.e., lab-on-a-chip technologies), to conduct chemical and biological experiments. On these platforms, fluids can be precisely manipulated in the nanoliter (10-9 L) to attoliter (10-18 L) range by controlling the applied force, geometry of the structure, and properties of the materials.
